Friends and family, from across the miles, gathered for their wedding day. The church was packed to the brim but the day was still very sweet and intimate. It was Christine and Rishi’s wedding day and it seemed all of Capitol Hill was celebrating with them. Their utmost desire and prayer was that God would be honored through their wedding day and that was absolutely the case. These two planned a wedding completely to rejoice with their friends and family and give Glory to God. It really was beautiful. Our day started a little differently than usual, as Christine and Rishi chose to start with us right at the time for first look. Because of this, I had the unique opportunity of walking around the corner and seeing Christine for the first time that day, as a bride, completely dressed. It was such an exciting moment honestly, and I think I might have even squealed, she looked so beautiful! Christine and Rishi got married in their church, Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC and it was one of the most beautiful December days.
To honor Rishi’s Indian heritage, Christine had traditional Mehndi on her hands. I love that Rishi’s initials, as is tradition, are incorporated into the design.
A friend, who works with a florist in South Carolina, made all the flower arrangements and they were just so lovely!
When half of the bridal party are your friends, you have to make them take a photo like this. ;) Christine told me she was nervous about walking down the aisle because even at the rehearsal it made her a bit anxious. After the wedding, she shared that she could have walked down that aisle again and again! She wasn’t a bit nervous but instead loved the feeling of turning the corner and seeing that the people she and Rishi love so dearly filled the room! She clung to her dad’s arm and looked around while also looking toward her groom, waiting at the end. I just love that the very thing she sort of dreaded became one of her most special memories of the day.
Congratulations Rishi & Christine! We are so thankful to call you friends and so excited for what lies ahead! Love you!
