I first met Meredith almost 5 years ago when I worked at camp. She is one of those people who just works her way right into your heart. When I met the rest of her family, I knew I’d be hooked for life. Meredith has a heart for adoption and has done countless work to fund, support, and advocate for orphans around the world (which of course, speaks directly to my heart). Largely in part due to the fact that Meredith herself has 4 adopted siblings. Her parents are two of the most incredible people I have the privilege of knowing. When they asked me about doing a session with the two youngest sisters, Erica and Brooke, I was beyond excited and so honored. They are two of the most beautiful girls, both adopted from China, and both bright spirited little girls! In tutu’s no less! I have to say, this may be one of my favorite sessions I’ve done, ever. Which may explain why I did a terrible job cutting it down to a few favorites and this blog post became waaay too long. ;)These skirts were made for twirling. :)I have no words. Just too sweet.Erica is such a tender heart, and a great big sister to Brooke.
A little over a year ago Brooke came to America to be with her forever family, forever. Shortly after that, she had open heart surgery. This sweet girl is truly a warrior. She calls this her “brave heart”. A brave heart she is, indeed.I will never tire of living near the water’s edge.A favorite, for sure. (As if any of these are not my favorite.)Sisters, doing life together. Digging in the sand. :)
Thank you, sweet friends, for allowing me to capture this time in the girls’ lives. So, so beautiful. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:18
