I got the text on a Saturday, “We might be getting a baby this week… could you be there to take pictures?”… Shelly and Jason started the adoption process a little over a year ago and I have followed their journey on their blog. You may remember this awesome couple from their 5 year anniversary shoot in DC last fall. Needless to say, when I got Shelly’s text I was so excited- excited for them to bring home the baby they had been praying for and excited and honored to be a part of it. Things were confirmed on Monday, and Tuesday morning we were all piled in the car heading to meet Shelly and Jason’s daughter for the first time. Amazing. I have a heart for adoption and it is something Ben and I pray for as we hope to adopt children of our own. Being a part of this homecoming was truly a blessing and a day I will not forget. So good, in fact, I felt a few photos were too good not to share.
Seeing their daughter for the first time.
This foster mom… she and her family took care of this precious girl for the first 6 weeks of her little life. Incredible.
Bringing her home…
When prayers are realized…
Shelly and Jason named their daughter Justice, meaning “righteous faith”. Isaiah 26:7 is the verse that goes with her name.
This is their daughter. I am blown away by adoption.
Shelly and Jason, I really cannot tell you enough what a blessing it was to be a part of this. Thank you for sharing your journey, your faith, and your joy with others. I am so excited for your family!
