This wedding… it may just go down as one of my favorites. From the moment we arrived at the Loews Annapolis Hotel to the minute we left Michael’s on the South River, all the while a rain storm threatening us, we had such a great time with Katie & Matt and their guests. It was a day filled with lots of joyful tears, plenty of laugher, and abounding love. These two are a kind-hearted couple and their wedding day was simply beautiful. Katie even emailed me en route to their honeymoon, still beaming from such a wonderful day!
Katie and her girls got ready at the Loews Hotel downtown Annapolis where all of her beautiful details were waiting for us. Katie’s dad entered the room and that’s when the first tears of the day came. So sweet. :) I have to tell you, I will never tire of military uniform.
It was a privilege to shoot at the United States Naval Academy Chapel. At the highest point on the Academy grounds, it’s just a breathtaking sight. We made a quick stop by Bancroft Hall before heading over to the Superintendent’s Garden where Matt and Katie got special permission to do portraits. While I was working with the bridal party, Alyce captured this sweet moment between Katie & Matt. I just love this.
So, needless to say, the Superintendent’s Garden provided an amazing backdrop! Whole Foods Annapolis did a beautiful job with the flowers! (I am a little partial… they did my wedding flowers too!) And this next photo is reason #872 why I love my second shooter, Alyce. :)Just as we arrived to Michael’s on the South River, so did the rain. We went on to the pier for a few shots and I am so glad they were willing to brave the rain! A good brother, holding their umbrella. :)
Michael’s is such a beautiful venue, and growing up in Riva, the iconic Mike’s crab house was a big part of Katie’s life! It was a perfect fit and the party kept going thanks to The Doug Segree Band. Where there is a live band, there is plenty of singing (and dancing, of course)! :) Katie and Matt, we love you guys are are so happy for you! Thanks for allowing us to celebrate with you! Enjoy Costa Rica! :)
