Katie was actually one of the first brides that booked me as her wedding photographer. Last fall, shortly after shooting my very first wedding, Katie contacted me about her upcoming June 2nd wedding. Between then and now, I have been able to second shoot a few times as well as book other weddings on my own. But, I am so thankful and humbled when I think of Katie and Phoenix trusting me to be their wedding photographer, after I had only one wedding under my belt. These are the moments, too, that I am so thankful for what I have learned over time (and will continue to learn!). :)
It was a perfect day, (as most June 2nd’s are ;)) and when I walked into the church basement where the girls were getting ready, Katie almost seemed to be floating. She was bouncing around and kept reminding us all, “It’s my wedding day!” Meanwhile, her sister tried to chase her down for a lipstick touch-up. I love wedding days- and I especially love brides who are elated to be marrying their groom!
Phoenix is a Naval Academy Grad, so we did most of our portrait shots all around the USNA base- which gave us some really beautiful backdrops.
The Sword Arch.
And some of the men behind the sword arch…
And a fun send-off!
Congratulations Katie and Phoenix! I wish you fair winds and following seas! :)
(in other news… I can’t explain why the coloring is odd in some of these photos. Stupid blog… :) but, between summer camp happenings and being behind on my blogging, I gave up trying to figure it out for now!)
