She grew up on the water and so did he. She was in Annapolis MD enjoying the ebb and flow of the Chesapeake while he was raised along the Florida Shore, sailing the clear ocean water. Their love, as it ebbs and flows itself, was also spurred on near the water’s edge while working together one summer as camp counselors. Kellan and Sam love deeply. They give of themselves in quiet and humble yet extravagant ways. They are fun and easy-going yet passionate. They are two of my favorite people and I am blessed to call them friends. And so, I give you maybe my longest post to date, Kellan and Sam’s wedding day. You’ve been warned! But if you can stick it through to the end, I promise that you will be invited in to one of the most beautiful love stories.
I arrived at Kellan’s parent’s house where she was getting ready with her family and the girls in her life who are just as close as family.
Love the guys’ mint coral Vineyard Vines ties. :)
Sam’s brother David recently deployed to Afghanistan and Kellan got to talk with him over the phone just before the ceremony started!I have to tell you… This is the same church Ben and I got married in 6 years ago. It was this really beautiful & surreal honor to be photographing a wedding here!
Sam’s dad married them in a beautiful ceremony that united Sam, Kellan & Christ. Their wedding was a beautiful picture of the Gospel message- how Christ loves the church is how a man should love his wife.
Some of the cutest flower girls, ever. And a good looking bridal party, too. :) Kellan and Sam’s reception was at the Chart House in Annapolis. The beautiful Eastport view overlooking Spa Creek was a perfect fit for their nautical-inspired wedding. 2hands Studios put together the centerpieces including the classic monkey fist knot and driftwood. And Annapolis Cakes & Confections made the perfect beach themed cake.
Their reception send-off, in a boat!In this next image, if you look closely and beyond the sailboat masts, you can see four iconic Annapolis points- St. Mary’s Church, St. Anne’s at Church Circle, The State House, & The Naval Academy Chapel.
Kellan and Sam’s morning wedding left time in the late afternoon, after all the festivities, for some more fun portraits throughout downtown Annapolis!
Okay. That next photo on the right? My husband, the non-tographer that he is… that’s his image. I mean, not too shabby, huh? :)I know I am posting a lot of their portraits. I just can’t get enough! :)
Kell-an. Simply Gorgeous.
And that dress!
Kellan and Sam, I cannot say enough about you two! It was an absolute joy being your wedding photographer. It was a privilege watching your love grow over these last few years and I am so excited for what is in store for the two of you. Many blessings in your marriage, my friends!
