The whole week leading up to their wedding was rainy, and Saturday proved to be no different. I got a message from Marina a few days before their wedding that read, “I am almost positive it’s going to rain.” When you plan your wedding day, especially if you have an outdoor ceremony, you always know that weather could be a factor and you must make a back-up plan. But even still, you just don’t think it will actually rain on your wedding day. But sometimes, it does. And sometimes, you just have to embrace it- because at the end of the day you are still married, and that’s what counts. Lansdowne Resort did a wonderful job executing “plan B” and of course, everything was just perfect in spite of the rain!
Marina and her girls were in good spirits when we arrived, so excited that the day was finally here! They even sang Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic” because if it rains on your wedding day, you almost have to! :) While the girls put on the finishing touches, Marina’s gorgeous dress was waiting for us.
Marina and Nick wanted to share a prayer together, without seeing each other, before the ceremony. Always a sweet moment.
The rain let up for a few minutes at a time, so we took all that we could get outside! These girls are just beautiful. The make-up by Amy Miranda was flawless! I couldn’t get enough of her Betsey Johnson shoes!
Love these florals from Jerry’s Flowers!
Marina and Nick prepared personal vows in addition to the traditional vows. Nick shared his beautiful heartfelt words. Marina’s vows were a song, sung to Nick. Only two or three people in the whole room knew she had prepared this, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place!
One of Marina’s bridesmaids, Allison, has a cupcake and dessert bar business, Truly Scrumptious. Allison is so much fun and the custom candy bar was a wonderful addition to the reception. Not to mention, delicious!
Brian from Chris Laich Music kept the party going!
Marina and Nick, we are so thrilled for you and so thankful to have been able to capture your wedding day!
