Sarah + Jim | Wedding

In the week leading up to Sarah and Jim’s wedding I checked the weather at least 2 times a day. The ceremony was to take place outside at a setting overlooking the Bay- the Captain Salem Avery Museum in Shady Side, MD. The forecast, all week, was showing thunderstorms for most of the day. As nervous as I was about the weather, I know Sarah was praying for clear skies on her wedding day. And clear skies we had- it turned out to be a beautiful day and the only shower of the day happened while everyone was happily indoors!

As evidenced in the engagement photos, Sarah, her five children and Jim are a beautiful family of 7 people who share so much love between them. It was really fun to watch their wedding day unfold, without a hitch. The whole day Jim was consistently by Sarah’s side- and usually had one of the younger girls in his arms.

When we arrived, Sarah seemed so calm, she was just so ready to walk down the aisle to her groom! I love that this shot shows Sarah’s whole-heck-of-a-lot-of-dress.

So much of this wedding was DIY, by Sarah and her family and friends- Sarah made three delicious groom’s cakes for her groom and her mom put together all of the flowers.

The ceremony took place under blue skies and a beautiful oak tree at the Captain Salem Avery Museum.

My friend Kristi-Anna came with me to offer moral support and to second shoot. I was so thankful to have her there! She captured this brother-sister moment during the ceremony.

Some of my other favorite shots of the day were of the kids. So sweet.

Kristi-Anna grabbed this one of the maid of honor; the oldest daughter- I love the sweetness in her blue eyes as she’s looking at her mom.

Sisters… in law. Love.

I love, love. I just do.What a wonderful wedding, Sarah and Jim- thank you for letting me be a part of it!

I don’t mean to sound insensitive to their situation, but seeing all these, with the kids and everything, makes me want to redo my wedding with Sam just for the pictures with the kids! so neat! we’ll have to do a fancy anniversary soot or something :) these are all great work tara–way to be brave enough to do a wedding! God has blessed!ReplyCancel

Its not insensitive! I was widowed and my five children love, love, love Jim. When you marry with children, you are really creating a new family unit and therefore all the children played a big role in our special day…from my son who was Best Man AND walked me down the aisle to my Maid of Honor eldest who also played my favorite hymn on the keyboard to my three little girls…one 8 year old little lady and my two and four year olds who stole the show!ReplyCancel
