Just a few weeks ago, my friends Andrea & Renata came over to do some portraits of me and Ben and to update my head shots for my business. They are two of the dearest people and they are hella-talented to boot. (I know I just said “hella”, but it’s just what immediately came to mind… forgive me? :) ) Andrea & Renata have taught me so much and I have been fortunate to work with them on occasion. So, when it came time for me to be on the other side of their lens– What can I say?! It was the best. And I am so thankful for the beautiful images (look around the blog and on my Facebook page… you can see them all around!) It was definitely time for an update. Not to mention… they did some portraits of Ben and me. Andrea pointed out in their blog post of our photos that this was a good milestone for having portraits done since Ben and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary. I didn’t even think of that- but how true! And like I talked about in my recent post on Kristi-Anna and Johannes, there is no better time for capturing moments in life than now.
Now, I realize that the blog’s “makeover” just means a lot more of me. And I certainly welcome criticism that it’s just too much… believe me, it feels a little weird to look at photos of myself and go, “I love that!!”. But in a sense, I want my blog to reflect me. I mean this is, after all, Tara Peddicord Photography. I think what is most important are my clients and the posts of them (of course!)… but my hope is that through reading this blog (and the now gratuitous images of me) my future clients and my readers will feel they can get to know me a little better. I am a big huge hairy fan of interpersonal, relational communication with people and maybe I am not willing to let go of that completely, even with social media. :) So, with that, here are a few favorites for September’s self-portrait!
And here are a few of me and my sweet husband (of 5 years!), since you asked so nicely. :)
Ben was more than willing to be a subject for this portrait session- but I gotta tell you, it’s not his forte (or mine for that matter!) But, I am used to posing others, so as strange as it is to be “the model”, I can get into it. Ben? Ben is used to standing one way, all the time. ;) But, I have to say, I think he did a pretty bang-up job!
And for your entertainment, I will end with this lovely image. This is sometimes what happens when friends are the ones doing your portrait session… And also, I am ridiculous.
Thank you again Andrea & Renata, for these beautiful photos. Love them and you. :)
