The latest happenings… {and prepping for a little Christmas Cheer}…

It is an exciting time of year, friends. I just wrapped up this year’s wedding season with my last wedding this past Saturday. Engagement shoots, family sessions, and meetings with next year’s brides have been abundant during this beautiful fall season. I am blessed and excited for the break that winter will bring, and yet very excited for next year’s season to kick-off. I cannot get over how amazing my clients have been this year! But yes, I admit, the small winter break upon me is welcome! I so look forward to traveling with my hubby to visit our Georgia family for Thanksgiving later this month. But I gotta tell ya, the joy of Christmas has already begun to capture me. You guys, I. Love. Christmas. I know, who doesn’t, right? But I am one of those that never tires of the hustle and bustle, endless Christmas music on the radio, or the heaps and heaps of yuletide cheer. For me, the stores can’t decorate soon enough, and in fact, on the way to and from this weekend’s wedding, we listened to exclusively holiday tunes. (My husband would call this too premature, but my friend & second shooter, Alyce, grew up in Sweden where they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, of course. So it’s completely appropriate to start the Christmas season Nov. 1st.) :) Not to mention, my birthday is in December. And I love a good birthday. I used to be a little bitter when I would get birthday gifts wrapped in Santa paper, or worse yet, the bummer of a combined Birthday/Christmas gift. BUT, as an adult I have completely embraced that my birthday falls during the Christmas season- who other than December babies get an entire month of holiday celebration! That being said, Christmas is also my favorite season because I get all weepy when I think about young Mary and Joseph giving birth to the Christ child. I am not a mother, but whenever I imagine Joseph’s courage and Mary’s tender heart toward baby Jesus… those are warm-fuzzies that not even the Rockettes can give me. (The Rockettes, they are another story. I love them.) So anyway, while my house will not yet be decorated for Christmas and my current Yankee Candle scent is “Autumn Leaves”… you may find me enjoying a Peppermint Mocha or Chick-fil-a’s Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake while listening to Michael Bublé’s Let it Snow.

Now for those of you are not nearly ready for Christmas, here are a few previews of some of the beautiful autumnal shoots I’ve had lately. :) These posts will be hitting the blog soon and let me tell you, they are some seriously bea-u-tiful couples!

An engagement session with two of my favorite people…

These two amazing DC portrait sessions…

And one beautiful wedding (right before Hurricane Sandy came!)…

As some of my GA family would say, “Happy Fall, Ya’ll!” (and a little Christmas cheer from me to you!) ;)
